Wild Roots a été fondé par Hugo Marchand dans une ancienne bergerie aux abords d'Aix-en-Provence en 2017. Après dix ans comme herboriste, il en avait assez d'acheter de l'huile de neem qui arrivait en bidons plastiques sans origine traçable. La ferme cultive aujourd'hui la consoude, l'ortie et l'achillée qu'elle presse ; le neem vient encore du Kerala, pressé à froid par une coopérative qu'Hugo a visitée quatre fois. Tout est embouteillé en verre ambré en Provence, étiqueté en kraft, et noué de ficelle de chanvre.

How it actually gets made.

The herb fields at dawn. South-facing terraces of comfrey and nettle, harvested by hand from May through August.

Cold press, set to 23°C. The heat ceiling that preserves the active fractions.

Settling tanks. The tincture rests for six weeks before bottling.

Hand-bottling in Aix. Kraft labels glued one at a time. The hemp twine knot is Hugo's own.
